A statue of Baron von Steuben, 1730-1794, who helped the Americans against
the British in the American War of Independence.

The Day the Wall Came Down by Veryl Goodnight, which was presented
by the American people to the people of Berlin to mark the 50th anniversary
of the Berlin Airlift, and is a copy of a sculpture in the USA. It was
unveiled by George Bush senior. The horses are trampling down a section
of the Berlin Wall.
The statue
and the sculpture are outside the Allierten Museum (below) which commemorates
the Allied role in the Berlin Airlift and Cold War Berlin. The plane is
a Handley Page Hastings TG503 which took part in the Berlin Airlift.
