Aspects of World War 1
Editor's introduction

The author of this resource is Simon Peaple, Subject Leader for history and politics at Stafford College of Further Education. Simon is your humble editor's Head of Department. More to the point, Simon is a self-confessed fanatic on all aspects of the Great War. The more detailed and obscure, the more Simon likes it. This brings an enthusiasm and, of course, a level of knowledge into the classroom which students appreciate. It also comes across in this article, which is aimed at the 16-18 age range of students, but would be accessible to some in the 14-16 age group.

The article provides masses of detailed examples to illustrate points. It is deliberately presented without sub-headings, because this is part of the challenge for students to read and locate the relevant sections and sub-headings in the activity. Read on and enjoy!
